Heart of Gold (7/20/05)

Some are gifted in the arts.
Some are gifted with hearts of gold.
I know somebody like this.
Most people care for their friends, but
It takes a heart of gold to care
For the downtrodden stranger.
Where’d this heart of gold come from?
I believe everyone has a heart of gold
Buried beneath much selfishness.
Imagine the difference if a few more people
Dug deep down inside, found their
Heart of gold, and acted in love.
It wouldn’t be a perfect world, but
Some change is better than
No change at all.
Change can be realized by a
Few more people with hearts of gold.
