Exile

Exile (3/13/2006)

I’m just a loner, just an exile.
Been away for quite awhile.
You wouldn’t know where to find
Me unless I told you.

No matter how many times I say
I’m just a loner, just an exile
Seems everybody wants to join me
Or else cut me down
And leave me for dead.

I used to be a Jedi;
Used to be a general.
Thought those days were long
Gone; guess I was wrong.

I’m just a loner, just an exile.
Been this way for near a decade.
I was doing just fine out
On my own until I awoke
In the middle of a new war.

Judging from the way the skills,
Memories, pain, and all
The rest come flooding back
I guess my days
As a longer, just an exile
Are a thing of the past.

Almost to Spring Break

I did a report, well most of one, today. It still ticks me off that some murderers get away with it, especially in cases where the guy gets off b/c he meant to kill the other guy.

On a happier note, I think I'll write a story tonight.
I may write tale #3 in the life of Jillian.

Murder Free on Technicality

(old news, okay I'm sorry...this is a Nov 2005 case) I guess it's a fairly common thing, but it sucks all the same. I'm doing a research paper on the David Policano case. In short, Policano walks away from a 25 year murder sentence because he actually intended to kill his victim. Oh, you've got to love those technicalities.

Jack Cavanaugh's The victors

Jack Cavanaugh's amazing. His characters are deep and the plots twist and turn and generally have enough cliff hangars to make you want to carry the book with you everywhere.
Liltin' Lil, aka Lily Morgan, has a glorious voice which she of course uses to bless the homesick ears of GI's but danger can find one anywhere, even far behind the front lines.
Walt's his father's dream son. He's a crack pilot, a strong Christian, and an all around good man. As a B-17 bomber pilot, Walt and his crew take on many dangerous missions. With every new missions comes the possibility it could be his last, but Walt's not afraid, he knows full well death is only an accident or blast or bullet away.
Nathaniel Morgan's no soldier and never was, but he joins the army anyway. He shares more in common with his artsy, musically gifted little sister, Lily. But for a photographer, he comes to stare at the wrong end of a rifle an awful lot.
Alexandra Morgan, the eldest of the Morgan children, takes after her father. As such, she becomes one of the few women to be certified as a B-17 pilot. She's always laughed at silly women who threw away hard earned careers for a man, but could the unthinkable happen to her?
Laura Morgan's lived through one war; she's already seen the broken pieces of young men and the desecrated remains of once quaint towns. But this time, she'll have to watch her children march or fly off into the war zone. Does her faith have the strength to remain steady and growing during these dark times?

Amazon Reviews

I've decided to write more reviews for amazon. Allreaders is a good site but their reviews are so long winded that I get tired of answering questions by the end. BEsides, I can't rememer every detail of the books I've read months ago. With amazon, I can simply post vague recollections and impressions.
